Welcome to Emprove!

I’m Emma and I’ve created Emprove to tie together two passions of mine; reading and grammar – yes, I am that cool! 

​

I read obsessively and have since I was just a little girl. It’s always been my way of switching off my brain and letting the day and any stresses wash away. 

​

I’ve always had a keen eye for detail and am lucky to have an excellent understanding of English and the written word. So, over the Covid lockdown, I decided to take an adult learning course in Proofreading and Copywriting; passing with distinction. This course, along with far too many hours on Booktok (for research, of course), led me to start Emprove – an affordable proofreading service. 

I know that editing a book, or any piece of text, is a costly process but especially so for indie or first-time authors. This is where I would like to help. I aim to offer a proofreading option that is accessible to all.

I’m sure not about anyone else, but I find that typos, incorrect words or grammar and spelling mistakes really disrupt my flow when I’m reading; sometimes these can change the whole meaning of a sentence. I want any authors using this service to feel secure in the knowledge they are putting their best foot forward. I don’t want any authors to feel like this is part of the process of writing a book that they have to skip. Authors put their blood, sweat and tears into their writing, and my goal is to ensure minor errors don’t get in the way of readers loving their books!

I know this can be a big expense when you’re self-funded or don’t know how your work will be received, which is why I have purposefully kept my pricing reasonable and have several payment plans to suit all budgets.
